BISMARK, ND — A man faces a felony charge after entering Red Carpet Carwash and demanding cigarettes and money, the Bismark Tribune reported.
The Sept. 11 story stated that a man entered the wash’s gas station in a blue hooded sweatshirt with a blue bandanna covering the lower part of his face at around 1:50 a.m. on Tuesday. He had his hand in his pocket giving the impression that he had a gun.
The clerk gave the man cash and cigarettes, and then pressed the silent alarm. The suspect fled the scene, but police began searching the area. At 3:55 a.m. an officer spotted a man matching the given description walking down the street.
Kane Whiteman, 21, was charged with Class B felony robbery. He told investigators he robbed the store, and he also had cash and cigarettes consistent with what had been stolen from the carwash.
