TYLER, TX — A man was robbed at a carwash here after a woman presented a fake police badge and demanded to search his car, KLTV reported.
The Oct. 15 article stated that the woman confronted the customer while he was vacuuming his car. She identified herself and said he’d be arrested if he did not let her search his vehicle.

“While she was in his car, she ended up stealing his cell phone that was in the car and took his wallet and left him high and dry,” Tyler Police Officer Don Martin said in the story.
Police said the woman may be driving a dark compact Nissan, and anyone confronted by her should call 911 immediately. Police also noted that a similar crime occurred at a c-store, and both victims were Hispanic males.
