QuickChek among best places to work in New York and New Jersey

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. — More than 3,700 team members are employed at QuickChek Corp.'s 143 convenience store locations throughout New Jersey, New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island.

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. — For the fourth consecutive year, QuickChek Corp. has been named one of the “Best Companies to Work for in New York State” by the New York State Society for Human Resources Management (NYS-SHRM) and Best Companies Group, an independent firm managing Best Places to Work programs around the country, according to CSPnet.com.

The awards are part of “a distinctive program that evaluates and ranks the best places of employment,” stated a NYS-SHRM press release, and the survey and awards program is designed to “identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in New York [of which] benefit the state’s businesses, economy and workforce.”

QuickChek was also named by NYBIZ magazine as one of the “Best Places to Work in New Jersey” for five consecutive years, reported the article.

“We are committed to being a great place to work, a great place to shop and a great place to invest,” said Dean Durling, CEO of QuickChek, in the article. “We strive to create a positive experience and fun environment where core values are nurtured, hard work is rewarded and leadership is cultivated. As a privately held company, we can move at our pace and implement programs to ensure we attract, retain and develop the best people as well as [empower] them to be successful.”

More than 3,700 team members are employed at the company’s 143 convenience store locations throughout New Jersey, New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island, continued the article.

“When you come into any of our stores, the store leader manages that store as if it is [his or her] own,” stated Durling in the article. “This helps them connect with our customers on a personal level, to create that neighborhood shopping experience and provide the outstanding customer service for which we are known.”

For the past eight years, informed the article, the c-store has paid its employees above New York and New Jersey state minimum wages.

Additionally, added the article, full-time employees are offered several health and well care benefits, including medical, dental, life and vision insurance programs, fitness center reimbursement, pet insurance and a 401(k) savings plan.

QuickChek will be honored during an awards dinner, which will recognize the “2016 Best Companies to Work for in New York State” on May 3, noted the article.
