Reduce risk and claims with proper insurance know-how

Carwash owners can combat liability with knowledge and wise coverage decisions.

At what point in the carwash sale does your business assume liability for your customers’ property and safety? Do you know, and, perhaps more importantly, do your employees know? These coming winter months, in many areas of the country, present heightened on-site accident awareness. However, safety and insurance are certainly topics worthy of discussion throughout the entire year.

Moreover, in addition to being covered from any possible damage occurring to customers’ cars while in your carwash’s possession, your business must consider insurance policies that cover your workforce. As a carwash owner, you know there are many safety hazards that have the potential to devastate your business. And, not being properly insured is a risk you cannot afford to take.

Be sure to read our insurance feature in this issue, “Garage keepers liability insurance explained,” written by Dan Tharp.

In addition to covering these safety risks and insurance options throughout the year in Professional Carwashing & Detailing, we regularly feature these topics on Carwash.com. One good example of covering the topic of insurance and risk assessment on Carwash.com is our regular blog, CarWash Safety 101, by Mike Benmosche. Catch up on Benmosche’s blog at www.carwash.com/category/blogs/carwash-safety-101.

Also, in an effort to create a platform for other carwash professionals, we are accepting blog submissions from our audience. If you have something on your mind that you would like to see featured in an upcoming Guest Blog, please contact me at [email protected].
