CHICAGO — Sheetz Inc. has enrolled its 140 carwashes to participate in the Grace for Vets event on Veterans Day, according to a press release.
More than 3,100 carwashes in four countries will partake in the one-day event, offering free washes to veterans and active duty military on Nov. 11, stated the release.
Sheetz will also offer free six-inch sandwiches and drinks to veterans and active service personnel at all of its locations, reported the release.
“We were so excited to hear from Scott Soisson at Sheetz that [the company] would be joining us on Veterans Day,” said Mark Curtis, president of the Grace for Vets Board, in the release. “[It’s] fantastic that a major operator like Sheetz wants to honor those who have served or are serving in the military in this way.”
The participating Sheetz washes are located in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina, continued the release, and the addition of the carwashes increases the record number of participating carwashes for 2015.
Last year, added the release, 2,875 carwashes gave away close to 234,000 free washes.
Grace for Vets hopes to surpass the 300,000 free wash mark this year, noted the release.
