BEFORD HILLS, N.Y. — Splash Car Wash celebrated its 35th anniversary with the launch of its 19th location in Bedford Hills, according to a press release.
The new site was a welcomed addition for several formal customers who patronized Splash’s Bedford location, which was in operation for 18 years, before it closed its doors in 2013, stated the release.
Chazz Palminteri, a stage, screen and television actor was the new location’s first customer, continued the release.
To effectively serve the area’s diverse customer base, informed the release, the carwash features two wash tunnels and a separate 2,000-square-foot detailing center which offers both express and full-service detailing.
One tunnel is a full-service hand wash, which washes cars on a conveyor with employees using lambswool mitts to clean the cars, reported the release, and the service, which is performed in less than 15 minutes, includes vacuuming and window cleaning.
For customers wanting an exterior-only service, stated the release, Splash built a second wash tunnel featuring state-of-the-art automated equipment to wash customers’ cars.
The carwash chain also added automatic pay gates where customers can select their services and pay at an electronic teller before proceeding through the wash, continued the release.
“What a great way for us to celebrate our 35th anniversary,” said Chris Fisher, one of the co-founders of Splash, in the release. “We are just so excited to be back in Bedford Hills. It’s a great community we served for close to two decades, and we think they’ll like what we’ve done with this new site.”
While the new location is similar to Splash’s sites in Greenwich and Shelton, Connecticut, featuring two wash tunnels, reported the release, it is the largest facility operated by the carwash chain.
“This is really our flagship location,” stated Mark Curtis, co-founder of Splash, in the release. “We tried to think of every detail to enhance the customer experience whether [customers] use the hand wash or the express exterior wash. I really think people will enjoy both.”
The retail store and waiting area for the hand wash is Splash’s largest retail operation, added the release, and offers a new range of gift items in addition to the items Splash is known for, such as its greeting cards.
Splash opened its first location in 1981 in Greenwich, noted the release, and now operates 19 locations throughout Connecticut and New York.
