BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Each week, Professional Carwashing & Detailing editors choose a video from around the Web to raise awareness, spread education and/or share fresh ideas from around the industry.
As the effects of drought impact several cities throughout the U.S., especially in the West, people have to cut back on their water usage.
Featured on KTVN’s website, this week’s video takes a closer look at how drought conditions are increasing business for local carwashes in Reno, Nevada.
“There is no way around it, we are on our fourth year of drought and to save money a lot of people wash their cars at home,” said Erin Breen, reporter for KTVN, in the video. “But you can actually save something a lot more precious in this drought just by going through a carwash.”
The video features Jimmy’s Car Wash in Northern Reno, which is seeing an influx in business from drought-conscious customers.
“As our water supply dwindles, area carwashes are actually seeing a steady stream of business,” reported the article. “In fact, there are lines all over town these days as people wait to drive through carwashes. They may cost a few dollars more than washing your car at home, but they are saving on water.”
