BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — It is never advised to take shelter in a carwash during a severe storm, such as a hurricane.
However, according to www.jalopnik.com, storm chaser Jeff Piotrowski decided to get coverage of Hurricane Harvey as it swept through Rockport, Texas, from the dubious safety of an open carwash on the edge of the eye of the storm.
Piotrowski live-streamed the event for over 100 minutes; around the 50-minute mark, the situation gets hectic as the roof over his head starts being pulled from the building; at around 82 minutes into the stream, Piotrowski gets out of the car to view the structure behind him getting torn apart in the wind, and by the end of the stream, that structure is gone.
