GRANDVIEW, MO — U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver is being sued by a bank seeking repayment for a large loan used to buy a carwash, The Star reported.
The Sept. 11 story stated that Cleaver’s many opponents hoping to prevent his re-election may end up using this carwash lawsuit as a perfect message to help get rid of the representative.
Conservative opponents are especially worked up that the federal Small Business Administration has guaranteed about 75 percent of the loan. In this instance, that comes close to $1 million.
The writer points out that the true effect of the court case on the election will depend on a number of factors. Especially whether the carwash court case will be resolved before the election is held.
