JONESBORO, Ark. — Zips Car Wash recently announced the acquisition of Boomerang Car Wash, according to a company press release.
This transaction, added the release, will create North America’s third largest tunnel carwash company, with 57 locations across the Southeast and South Central U.S.
According to the press release, this deal represents the largest single-company acquisition in the history of the carwash industry.
“We are very proud to bring together these two outstanding carwash companies,” Zips Founder and Chairman Brett Overman said.
With Zips’ 23 locations and Boomerang’s 31 operations, and three more sites under construction, the Zips footprint will encompass nine states: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Overman added, “With the other deals we have in our acquisition pipeline we fully expect to be the second largest carwash company in the U.S. by the end of 2016.”
Zips Car Wash is headquartered in Jonesboro, Arkansas and Boomerang is based in Little Rock, Arkansas.
According to the press release, Overman says Zips will maintain management offices in both Arkansas cities, with James Burks of Boomerang moving into the role of chief executive officer of the new, combined company.
“We’re excited to announce that the entire Boomerang management team is staying onboard with Zips,” Overman stated. “Boomerang is a great company, and James Burks has done a fabulous job leading Boomerang to its position as one of the country’s most respected carwash organizations.”
Both organizations were featured in Professional Carwashing & Detailing recent Top 50 list of U.S. carwash conveyor chains.
