LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, IN — A Luke Oil location here again requested a zoning variance for a proposed carwash facility, Chesterton Tribune reported.
The April 16 story stated that the Porter County Board of Zoning Appeals voted to table the request 5-0 in March because the members did not want the carwash to the south near U.S. Highway 6.
C-store plans raise competition questions
Citing concerns over traffic backing up onto the highway, board members asked the construction manager if the carwash could be moved to the north of the parcel. This would still leave room for a new c-store.
Construction Manager Mike Zell agreed to return to the board with new plans.
