LEVITTOWN, Penn. — With increased temperatures coming in the area, this is the most important time to get the salt off of your vehicle, according to the Bucks County Courier Times.
AAA Allied gets message out to clean cars
Brake and fuel lines are particularly susceptible to rust caused by salt and brine, and when the temperature is above freezing is when the damage begins to occur. To have these parts replaced can cost up to $2,000.
AAA Mid-Atlantic Spokeswoman Jenny M. Robinson said that the AAA Car Care Center in Delaware County dealt with so many machines with corroded brakes last year that a special machine was brought in to do the job more efficiently.
Robinson said, “Even in the dead of winter, motorists should regularly wash their vehicles from top to bottom to prevent rust and paint damage.”
