QUEENS, NY — Another carwash in the New York City area has joined the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU), Epoch Times reported.
The April 28 story said 25 Jomar Car Wash employees are now part of the Union, which includes employees of Hi Tek Car Wash and Lube, Sutphin Car Wash, LMC Soho Car Wash, Webster Car Wash and Sunny Day Car Wash.
Update: Union employees return to work
The Union has been garnering members since September 2012.
The owners of Jomar Car Wash, including John Lage and his partners, own a total of 20 locations throughout New York and employ about 500 people.
Union president: Immigration reform prevents abuse
According to the Flushing Chamber of Commerce, Jomar Car Wash makes between $1 million and $2 million a year.
