The car wash industry trade show season is upon us. Exhibitors are busy preparing their booths. Attendees should also be preparing for the shows that they attend to make sure they get the most out of the experience as possible.

Before the Show
Read through the trade show promotional materials. They will give you more information on the upcoming show and who will be attending. Pay attention to the map locating the exhibitors you want to visit.

Before attending the trade show it is important to set goals for what you would like to accomplish at the show. From these goals, figure out the best way you can go about achieving them. For example, if one of the goals is to meet with a certain person, be sure to contact that person ahead of time to set up a meeting. Write your goals down or keep them on your smart phone so you have them with you at all times during the show.

During the Show
Be sure to review the floor map beforehand. You can then map out how you would like to walk the floor. Don’t feel pressured to visit every booth. Keep your goals in mind.

Trade shows are important networking venues. They bring an array of people from the industry together. Connecting with people from different areas of the country or different aspects of the business can give you insight on how others are doing business.

Seminars are often offered for attendees. If time allows, be sure to take advantage and attend the seminars that are appropriate for you.

After the Show
While walking the exhibition floor, networking or attending seminars be sure to keep notes throughout the show. You can use this to reference once the show is over. This can help you further research or contact exhibitors after the show if you have any questions.

Attending trade shows can be expensive and time consuming. Taking the appropriate steps can ensure that you get the most value out of any trade show that you plan on attending.
