CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Autobell Car Wash Inc. has opened its third wash in the Baltimore metro area, joining locations in Annapolis and Bel Air, Maryland, in an expanding market within the company’s five-state territory, according to a press release.
The new carwash is located at 119 South Piney Rd. in Chester on Kent Island, the release continued.
Kevin Dixon leads the Autobell team as store manager, the release stated, with 15 full- and part-time employees.
The Chester Autobell location showcases the unique conversion of a former bank building into a carwash, the release noted.
Repurposing the dormant structure included unusual challenges, such as systematically dismantling and removing the security vault of reinforced concrete and its 1,800-pound door, the release added.
The new location is the 81st wash for Autobell, the nation’s fourth largest carwash company, according to the release.
“Introducing and expanding the Autobell brand in this market has been exciting and encouraging for me and the fine teams of employees we have assembled here,” stated Autobell District Manager Joseph Noel. “We love showing customers how our full service carwash model can take excellent care of their cars as well as their time.”
The Chester Autobell employees began community involvement before the wash even opened, conducting a beach clean-up at Kent Island’s Terrapin Nature Park in October, the release stated.
The new wash and all locations of Autobell are currently open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
