TIMBERLAKE, N.C. — Billy Lee Reynolds, born Dec. 19, 1935, passed away peacefully at the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, North Carolina, the evening of Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, having fought a battle with cancer and heart disease over the last 12 years with a positive attitude, according to a press release.
He was born in Hollywood, Virginia, and moved to Person County when he was a young boy; he grew up in Roxboro and remained there his entire life, the release continued.
Reynolds was a very hard worker with an entrepreneurial spirit: He began his first business as Reynolds Refrigeration Service and also developed and started many other businesses, including Carolina Pride Carwash Inc., the release noted.
His carwash business has existed for over 53 years and is still operated by his son Dale Reynolds, the release added.
Reynolds greatly loved his family and friends and enjoyed telling stories and jokes, the release stated; he also encouraged people to push themselves to do their best and to pursue their dreams.
He never met a stranger and enjoyed meeting people wherever he went, and many people experienced his generosity and big heart, the release added.
He will be greatly missed.
Billy is survived by the love of his life and wife for 63 years, Kay Lee Perkins Reynolds; daughter Sherry Reynolds; son Dale Reynolds and wife Lorraine; and grandsons Harrison Tyler Reynolds and Lee Thomas Reynolds, the release noted.
A service to praise God and celebrate Reynold’s life will be held at Roxboro Baptist Church, Friday, Dec. 6that 2 p.m., and visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., the release stated.
Memorial donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice or to My Life Matters (mylifematters.club) and/or Patrick Henry Family Services (patrickhenry.org), the release concluded.
