MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Lozano's Car Wash not only cleans your car, but satisfies your appetite, thanks to Harold Willis, 67, who has been barbecuing ribs at the carwash since 2000, the Mountain View Voice reported.
The May 23 story said quoted one customer who said, "They're the best in Santa Clara County, bar none. I'm not just saying that because (Willis) is standing here, I tell everyone that."
Willis has been cooking since the 1960s when he served two tours during the Vietnam War. He brought his skills back to the United States. He even did catering for locals Condoleezza Rice and John Arrillaga.
The reason he works out of the carwash is because that is where he got his first job at the age of 11, starting as a window washer and eventually rising to general manager.
Customer Bryan Macquarrie said in the story, "There are couple of things I love about this. He's located at a carwash — you gotta give him credit for that, I came here for the ribs first, the carwash second."
