WELWYN HATFIELD, England — A Ramada Hotel bid for a carwash and valeting service was rejected. The reason stated was that it would damage the appearance of the building, according to the Welwyn Hatfield Times.
The official statement explained: “Given the scale, height, design and sitting of the proposed canopy, the development would appear as a prominent and incongruous addition within the streetscene.”
One of the main reasons cited against the addition of the carwash was the fact that it would not only cater to hotel customers, but the general public as well.
