RAPID CITY, SD — Though Graffitti’s carwash is scheduled to close at the end of September, half of the building may still be used to wash cars, the Rapid City Journal reported.
The Sept. 13 story stated that owner Kim Benne has leased the front half of the building to the Man Salon. This area is currently used as a drying space for carwashes leaving the tunnel.
Currently, Benne has plans to use the back half of the building for hand washes and detailing. “But if somebody wants to come in and lease it I'll quit doing that,” he said in the article.
“It came down to where we had to put money in the business, like the equipment and stuff, and we just decided to go a different route,” Benne, who’s owned Graffitti's for 12 years, said in the article. “None of my kids want to take over.”
Plans call for the carwash to close on Sept. 29, unless the business runs out of chemicals first. Customers with unused punch cards can call the wash for refunds.
