Carwash flourishes during tough times, but some question its activity

Dallas — Jim’s Car Wash has found a way to prosper while South Dallas suffers hard times, this has led some to question the validity of its methods according to the Dallas Observer.

Dallas — While Jim’s Car Wash flourishes during tough economic times in South Dallas, not everyone believes the business is completely legitimate.

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings told the Dallas Observer that he believes the carwash is involved in criminal activity, and says he has personally observed what he believes to be drug activity.

Jim’s Car Wash has been involved in political cases before. The business was one of many in Dallas that complained of extortion from Dallas City Hall. Freddy and Dale Davenport, the owners of Jim’s Car Wash, were vindicated in that case, when the report following an investigation described protection racket harvesting of $20 million a year.
