TIANJIN, NORTH CHINA ― Five people have been accused of using "forced labor" at the Guangliang Car Service Center here, a China Daily story reported.
The Dec. 3 story said 11 workers were "rescued" from the carwash on Nov. 21 at the same time the five people were detained for questioning.
One of the 11 people, Lu Shilun, is mentally disabled and he said he was beaten several times since he started working at the carwash on Aug. 2.
Workers sue owner for $500,000 in damages
The story said the case is still under investigation.
