WATERLOO, Iowa — Nearly $5,000 was stolen from a car at a carwash, and has led to a wash worker being arrested, according to the WCF Courier.
Derrick Ware is alleged to have not only cleaned the Subaru of a customer, but to have stolen from it, on Jan. 27.
The money was under the floor mat, which is believed to be where Ware uncovered with it while vacuuming. Court records state he took the money and placed it in a garbage bin, later retrieving the money while emptying the garbage.
Ware was arrested for second-degree assault.
