WAUSAU, WI — Officials with Kwik Trip hope to replace a 30-year-old operation with a new c-store, carwash and gas station, the Wausau Daily Herald reported.
The Jan. 16 article stated that the proposed 5,800-square-foot building would be bigger than the current location, and 10 additional employees would be hired. In addition, when the older store closes, current employees would be transferred to the new operation.
Carwash & gas station adds taxi service
The proposed Kwik Trip would sit on two acres. A closed nightclub would be knocked down to make way for the business. An existing carwash on the property would be remodeled and two residential properties would be torn down to build the store.
Kwik Trip stores offer a large variety of food including sandwiches, soup and grocery store items.
Multi-profit center loses alcohol license due to debt
The plan commission approved the plan to build the business. The city council will have to vote on the plan during their regular meeting on Feb. 12.
