City council rejects carwash proposal

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA ― “What really disturbs me is how close the car wash is to residences,” said council member Ronit Bryant. “It’s incredibly close. That’s simply inappropriate.”

The June 27 story quoted council member Ronit Bryant who said, "What really disturbs me is how close the car wash is to residences. It's incredibly close. That's simply inappropriate."

The proposed carwash and c-store would have been part of the Shell gas station and would have been 23 feet away from one residency.

Neighborhood residents opposed the plans and compared the 2,600-square-foot convenience store and carwash to a truck stop.

Mayor Mike Kasperzak also noted the sugar, salt and fat found in c-store food. Another concern was that four heritage trees would have to be removed.
