BOURNEMOUTH, England — Residents’ battle against a hand carwash has been successful, according to the Daily Echo.
The Bournemouth Borough Council’s planning board made a unanimous decision to deny a planning application for the wash after hearing claims the business was polluting the ground, stated the article. Locals also claimed it was nuisnace.
Councilor Beverley Dunlop spoke to the board about environmental concerns due to the wash, noted the article. She wanted an investigation into the site’s drainage system.

“The only disturbance and noise in the entire area is coming from this carwash,” said Dunlop in the article.
According to James Cain, who represents the wash, 200 people had signed a petition in support of the business, reported the article.
