The Connecticut Carwash Association (CCA) has awarded $2,000 in scholarship money to Kayla Millerick and Aryion Petrelle, a press release reported.
The June 15 press release said both of the 2012 Kenneth M. Gustafson Sr. Scholarship Award recipients will receive $1,000 from the CCA to put towards their college endeavors.
Since 2003, the CCA has awarded $20,000 in scholarship money. CCA Scholarship Chairperson Paul Ferruolo stated in the press release, “This member benefit has had a significant impact for many young people who intend to further their education be it in a full- or part-time capacity. I feel like the CCA has really made an impact with this award."
The Kenneth M. Gustafson Sr. Scholarship Award is given to association members and their families. Recipients are chosen based on their high school standings, their community involvement, strength of character and their plan of study and goals for the future.
