Detailer could benefit from a small business grant

NEW BERN, NC — Miracle Car Wash detailing service requested $200,000 to help create eight jobs.

NEW BERN, NC — The city here agreed to apply for a small business and entrepreneurial grant in hopes of helping a detail business expand, the Sun Journal reported.

The Oct. 11 story stated that the grant, if approved, will provide $243,800 to help expand and support the entrepreneurial enterprises of two businesses, Miracle Car Wash and Precious Moments Family Childcare Home.

Possible tax break for carwash/retail development

Aldermen approved the request to apply for the grant, and funding is meant to jumpstart the growth of existing businesses by creating jobs or retaining existing jobs.

Miracle Car Wash is a detailing service, and the owners are requesting $200,000 for the expansion of the business to create eight new jobs. The total cost of the expansion is $820,000, and the grant funds would pay for about 25 percent of the project.

Scholarships help tobacco workers become detailers

The grant would be provided by the North Carolina Department of Commerce, and the small businesses may apply for up to $25,000 per job that will be created to assist with expenses and capital equipment purchase.
