Detailer hopes to give veterans free washes

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Williams is asking the business community to help wash veterans’ cars for free.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A waterless detailer who operates in 12 Birmingham Parking Authority (BPA) garages and lots here is hoping to help out veterans with free carwashes, al.com reported.

The Nov. 29 story stated that entrepreneur Michael Williams was excited when he learned the downtown Veterans Affairs Medical Center would now be using a BPA parking deck. When Williams went to check out the potential business boom, he instead found long lines of injured veterans using canes, walkers and wheelchairs.

"They need some help," Williams said in the story. "I can't charge them. I wouldn't even have a carwash if it wasn't for people like that. They went to war and everything, and then I'm going to turn around and charge them?"

Now Williams is calling on the business community to pitch in for supplies so he can was the veterans’ cars for free.

According to the story, Williams has developed his own waterless washing system that uses a spray-on formula to clean vehicles. Currently, his business, Corporate America Car Wash, employs six people, and it offers a wide selection of services ranging from a basic wash to a full detail.
