Detailer joins Air Force One detailing team

BEAUMONT, Texas — A local detailer earns a spot on the Air Force One detailing team.

BEAUMONT, Texas — According to the Beaumont Enterprise, Jerimiah Altamirano, an auto detailer from Beaumont, Texas, earned a spot on the prestigious Air Force One detailing team, which is working to restore multimillion dollar historic airplanes in Washington state.

Starting on July 24th, Altamirano, owner of Glanz Auto Salon, will spend a week with the team restoring old presidential jets, World War II bombers and retired luxury planes at the Seattle Museum of Flight, the article continued.

“It is such an honor for me to be a part of history,” Altamirano said. “I’ve never detailed a plane before. I’m actually really looking forward to it because I’m excited to learn a lot. I’m a little nervous about the workload because I don’t know what to expect, but I’m really excited.”

Altamirano emigrated from the Philippines at age 20 in 2003 and spent years helping a friend polish cars in various auto shops before opening his own business in 2015, the article concluded.
