Detailers chase down violent purse snatcher

SAVANNAH, GA — After a daring chase, two detailers managed to catch a fleeing thief and recover a woman’s stolen purse.

SAVANNAH, GA — Two detailers here helped police catch a man suspected of stealing a woman’s purse and punching her in the face, WSAV reported.

The May 21 story stated that the victim, Victoria Adams, was sitting outside a restaurant when a man grabbed her purse, punched her and ran away.

Dennis Stone and Benjamin Webster, detailers for Savannah Toyota, were in the car lot when they heard a woman chasing a man and yelling that her purse had been stolen. Stone ran after the suspect and yelled at Webster to get a car.

Webster got a car, picked up Stone and the pair caught up to the man. Both jumped out of the vehicle, and Stone chased and tackled the suspect. He then grabbed the purse and went back to make sure Adams was okay.

Stone and Webster were able to give police a description of the man, and officers were later able to apprehend Jarmel Brown, 20, who was charged with robbery by force, obstruction by fleeing and obstruction by resisting.

According to research compiled by  International Carwash Association (ICA), bay wash formats — in-bay automatics (IBA) and self-serves — consist of approximately 72% of all retail carwash locations in the U.S. That share of the pie is even higher in Europe and Australia — where IBAs and self-serve locations comprise 88% and 97% of total locations respectively, notes ICA. But, while these formats aren’t new, what’s happening in and around these bays is changing with the times.
