DARTFORD, ENGLAND — A carwash may be operating here illegally, a This is Local London story reported.
The May 29 story said a neighbor is claiming the Diori Hand Car Wash did not receive proper planning permission before it opened for business.
Neighbor Tara Keen said in the story, “They’ve taken up extra parking spaces down Shenley Road and do not have adequate drainage. It seems they’re doing exactly what they want.”
The Dartford Council planning permission rejected the carwash's application, but the Planning Inspectorate granted permission on appeal. But that consent has since expired.
Councilors speak out against carwash
A council spokesman released the following statement, according to the story: “This permission has since expired so trading, which commenced today, is unauthorised. The council is aware of this and is acting swiftly in response to the situation.”
