MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Prestige Auto Spa located in Murfreesboro was recently shut down after approximately 55 gallons of diesel fuel spilled at the wash, according to wgnsradio.com.
Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department responded to the spill, stated the release.
Daryl Alexander, shift commander, reported in the release the “fuel spilled from a tank on the back of a truck entering the carwash.”
"City Environmental Engineer Sam Huddleston investigated the incident, and we do not believe the fuel is posing any environmental threat as it is mostly contained in the holding tanks inside the carwash,” said Alexander in the release.
An environmental cleanup crew will mitigate the situation, continued the release, and Alexander stated that the fuel will have to be extracted from the holding tanks before starting the cleanup process.
Prestige Auto Spa will be closed until further notice, noted the release.
