FORT SMITH, AR — NWA reported that an 83-year-old employee at a carwash was severely beaten and robbed at around 9:30 a.m. last Friday morning.

The Sept. 14 story stated that an officer was dispatched to the carwash in response to a possible robbery. Upon entering, the officer found employee C. E. Smith in a small room with extensive injuries to his face. Smith was immediately taken to a hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
