YORKTOWN, VA ― An entire money machine, which accepts money from customers before getting a wash, was stolen from a Shell gas station carwash here at some time between 9:30 p.m. on Sunday and 3:40 p.m. on Monday, the Williamsburg Yorktown Daily reported.
The July 17 story said the machine, valued at $1,500, was removed from its holder, which was placed at the entrance of the wash.
The carwash did not have any surveillance equipment installed, therefore no description of the thief or thieves is available.
No one was aware that the machine was missing until a woman pulled up to get a wash on Monday afternoon and tried to use her ticket in the machine.
