Flex-serve to combine detailing and full-service washing

LEWES, Del. — Mike Anthenelli hopes to break ground in the next few months with a grand opening projected for later this year or early in 2016.

LEWES, Del. — A new flex-serve carwash, combining detailing options with express exterior cleans and full-service washing is coming to Lewes, according to CapeGazette.com.

Mike Anthenelli said in the article that Waves Car Wash “will be unlike any other in the Cape Region,” featuring a variety of detailing and cleaning options, the article stated.

He reported in the article that customers will be able to remain in their vehicles for a quick wash or wait outside while staff cleans their cars.

“We want the customer experience to be paramount,” explained Anthenelli in the article. “We want this to be a community-centric business, like the vibe you get from Surf Bagel. We want everyone to walk out with a smile on their face.”

Anthenelli must acquire all the required approvals before construction can commence later this summer, the article continued, and he hopes to break ground in August or September with a grand opening projected for later this year or early in 2016.

His wife, Danni, will join Anthenelli in the venture, the article noted.

“We’re looking forward to doing a lot of partnerships — fundraisers, things like that,” he stated in the article. “This will be a family-owned, family-operated business catered to the locals. We want to give back as much as possible.”

Reaching new reclaim heights

There is a lot of variety in the carwash industry. Not only are there different types of washes, but the design, equipment, chemistry, staffing and service can greatly vary from one site to the next. However, there’s one non-negotiable constant in every wash: Water.

Since water — and lots of it — is so essential to this industry, it only makes sense to strive for ways to maximize every single drop. That’s where the reclaim process comes in. Collecting, rehabilitating and reusing as much water as possible is essential to protect the environment, the availability of resources and a carwash’s bottom line. That’s why industry leaders are currently driving innovation to find ways to reclaim even more water than ever.
