MORRISON, Ill. — One hundred forty-one Super Car Wash locations raised more than $45,061 for local food pantries, according to saukvalley.com.
The effort is intended to raise awareness about the need to fill food pantries during the summer months. With children out of school during this time, the need to keep food pantries full rises, said the article.
Over the last five years, more than $260,000 has been raised, equal to about 2.3 million meals. The article noted that according to Feeding America, $1 provides nine meals.
