SANTA FE, NM ― Six former employees of the Squeaky Clean Car Wash here said they still haven't received backpay, or had their jobs reinstated, as ordered by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and now they plan to protest, The New Mexican reported.
The Feb. 25 story said they plan to gather at the carwash on Friday morning.
On Feb. 4, the NLRB ordered the carwash to pay the employees $1,000 and offer them back their jobs by Feb. 22. The Board also said that owner Jay Ritter could no longer threaten employees or reduce their hours or fire them if they participate in union activities.
Carwash will pay $60,000 to settle labor claims
Ritter agreed to the terms and signed an agreement.
Wash employees allege wage theft and abuse in NM
Last summer, the employees claimed they were owed $167,000 in wages and tips. They also said they were fired because they had formed a union.
