SYDNEY — Ruslan Kogan grew up in public housing, near the suburbs, which held the promise of a better tomorrow.
The 31-year-old is now a millionaire, making his money in the online electronics market, with the website, that shares his last name, kogan.com.
Kogan began his enterprising at a young age, starting his own carwash business at 12, according to the article. He would knock on his neighbors doors and offer them a carwash for a small fee. Soon he was buying his own pressure hose, and recruiting his friends to join his business.
One customer service tip that he enacted was calling his customers after the wash to make sure they were pleased with their service
Despite his success, Kogan is not motivated by material possessions, and works between 70 and 100 hours a week. He loves what he does, but won’t continue to do it unless he’s passionate about it. “One promise that I have is the moment I’m not enjoying it, I’m gone.”
