It’s hard not to focus on the potential of our future these days. Over the past two decades especially, technology in so many areas — from communications to automotive — has advanced so fast and so far that it has caused a shift in how we all think about the future. Now, reaching new heights — particularly in the area of equipment and machinery automation — is no longer a question of “if” but “how” and, more importantly, “when.”
At the recent Southwest Car Wash Association (SCWA) Convention & EXPO, during the CEO forum, themed “The Future is much closer than you think,” presenters David Begin, Paul Fazio and Bill Martin peered into the future of the professional carwash market and looked at some of the significant trends that are impacting our industry now and moving forward.
The trio, and inquiring audience members, reviewed new auto technology, the emergence of autonomous vehicles, ride sharing and its impact on vehicle ownership and much more. As these trends and others evolve and continue to impact our industry, it is now more important to connect with industry peers and attend educational seminars and forums, like this one, to prepare for the future.
As mentioned, equipment automation has developed into a macro trend, and one that many forward-thinking carwash owners and operators are using to stay competitive. In Professional Carwashing & Detailing magazine and on Carwash.com, we have covered the topic of carwash equipment automation in recent issues, including in this month’s profile of New York-based Hoffman Car Wash.
If you are not familiar with these equipment advancements, there is no better place to demo and view the products than at The Car Wash Show™ 2018. Hundreds of exhibitors will be showcasing thousands of innovations, products, supplies and services to help you be more profitable and better prepared for the future. Our staff will be in attendance (you can find us at booth 135), and we hope to see you there.
Also included in this special show issue is our Most Valuable Carwasher of the Year. Thank you to all of our readers who took the time to nominate your company’s most valuable team member and congratulations to our winner.
