HIGH WYCOMBE, England — The Vale of Glamorgan Planning Committee has allowed a hand carwash to operate on a former car lot site, according to Barryanddistrictnews.co.uk.
Local residents raised objections to the plans at a town council meeting and through letters, noted the article.
Barry Town councilors were against the proposal, citing evidence of traffic accidents due to queuing and inadequate drainage that could lead to flooding, reported the article.

However, the council decided to approve the wash after determining the business would not have “an unacceptable impact upon the nearest residential occupiers,” said the article.
Councillor Ian Johnson was concerned about increased traffic and accidents, but he was pleased with conditions added to the plans, including restricting the wash to close at 6 p.m., improved drainage and more, shared the article.
