CHICAGO — The International Carwash Association (ICA) has selected the winner of the Larry Harrell Scholarship, according to a press release.
Jordan Allen, a Delta Sonic employee and Hilton High School student in Rochester, New York, has received the association’s $1,000 scholarship, stated the release.
This fall, reported the release, Allen is planning to attend either the University of Tampa or St. John Fisher College to pursue a pre-medical major, and the scholarship will be used toward her education.
ICA selected Allen for the scholarship because of her high school academic performance, school honors, strong essay on the importance of kindness and hard work, and also for her community involvement, continued the release.
Created in honor of carwash operator Larry Harrell by his peers in 2000, noted the release, The Larry Harrell Scholarship, which is awarded annually, recognizes young adults working in the carwash industry.
