TROY, Mich. — According to www.theoaklandpress.com, a Jax Car Wash employee, Marcos Rodriguez, 45, died in an accident on-site on Feb. 25th.
The driver of a Ford F-150 was transitioning from the tunnel wash portion of the site to an area where two employees were standing, the article continued.
The truck struck the two employees, pinning Rodriguez and killing him, whereas the other employee bounced off the truck and was injured, the article stated.
The employees were rushed to the hospital, where Rodriguez was pronounced dead and the other employee was treated, though his condition is not known, the article noted.
The truck driver, 64, was not injured, the article added.
According to Sgt. Meghan Lehman of the Troy police, there is no indication that the carwash equipment malfunctioned, the article stated, but it is an ongoing investigation.
No decision has been reached on charges against the truck driver, the article continued, and the case will move forward to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office when the investigation concludes.
The carwash closed that afternoon after the accident and reopened Tuesday, flying its flag at half mast, the article concluded.
