ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — The Palatine Village Council approved plans to tear down a local 27-year-old self-serve carwash, according to the Daily Herald.
The self-serve will be replaced with a modern, automatic tunnel carwash, the article stated.
According to documents filed with the village, “the new carwash would move cars through a series of foam brushes and other cleaning apparatus [as well as] a heated drying system, a departure from the current self-service bays,” reported the article.
The doors will remain closed during the wash cycle to limited noise from the equipment, continued the article.
The new business will employ two to three workers to be on-site each day, noted the article.
