The Car Wash Show™ 2017 is less than a month away
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Car Wash Show™ 2017 is just around the corner, taking place from April 4-6 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and promising to be a great event.
Our staff has created our publication’s Exhibit Product Guide, which will be distributed from our booth at the show along with our April issue.
Partnering with the Automotive Oil Change Association, the education seminars that are scheduled for this year’s The Car Wash Show™ are diverse, and there is something for everyone and every interest.
Choose from dozens of workshops and seminars catered to various audiences, such as multi-site organizations, owners/operators, site managers and fast lube operators, and covering such topics as people management, customer experience, industry trends, business management, marketing and vendor presentations.
In preparation for the show guide, we caught up with ICA’s Chief Operating Officer Claire D. Moore.
During our interview, we wanted to find out what’s new at The Car Wash Show™ 2017.
“One new initiative for 2017 is the creation of a VIP upgrade to the All Access Pass. This VIP add-on allows attendees to avoid registration lines by receiving their badges in the mail prior to the show, gives them access to the Century Club lounge, a complimentary shuttle ride to the airport after the show and (my favorite) gives them an extra two hours of trade show floor time,” said Moore in our interview.

Crew Carwash opens new facility in Avon
AVON, Ind. — Crew Carwash announced that its newest location in Avon, Indiana, opened on Mar. 6th, according to a press release.
Located at 7127 E. US 36, the new facility is the company’s second location in Avon and is Crew’s 30th location in Indiana, the release continued.
The state-of-the-art $5 million facility will feature several new high-tech amenities, the release added, providing customers with a more robust car cleaning experience.
Self-service dual hose vacuums will be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the release noted, and the Avon location will also include new LED lighting inside and outside the carwash, advanced soap and detergent-delivering technology and an environmentally-conscious water reclamation system that cleans and reuses water during certain parts of the washing process.
In addition, the release noted, the latest Crew Carwash facility has an exclusive automated lane, allowing customers who have purchased the “Unlimited Washes” monthly plan to bypass traditional lines for a quicker, hassle-free experience.
“As our 30th facility in Indiana, this location marks a milestone for our organization,” said Sally Grant, executive vice president of Crew Carwash. “We’re excited to continue to grow our footprint in Hendricks County and bring another world-class carwash experience to the Avon community.”
Crew is currently hiring for management positions as well as full and part-time associates at its new Avon facility, the release stated; new Crew team members earn a starting wage of $10 per hour, and applicable college students have the opportunity to take advantage of the Crew Carwash Tuition Assistance program, providing up to $2,500 per year.
To date, Crew has provided its team members with more than $100,000 in tuition assistance, the release noted.

Bud Abraham receives Nat Danas Lifetime Achievement Award
ORLANDO, Fla. — At the recent International Mobile Tech & Detailing Expo in Orlando, Florida, industry leader Bud Abraham received the Nat Danas Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Kevin Halewood, MTE manager, according to a press release.
“Bud Abraham has been a major supporter and contributor to both the success of the Mobile Tech Expo and our industry for years. This award was well deserved,” stated Halewood.
Abraham has been involved in the carwash and detailing industries for over 40 years and is considered one of the leaders and spokespersons in the detail industry today, the release concluded.
