DRB Systems named one of Northeast Ohio’s Top 150 Workplaces

AKRON, Ohio — DRB Systems announced that it has been included in Northeast Ohio’s Top 150 Workplaces, according to a press release.

Cleveland’s Plain Dealer newspaper has teamed with Workplace Dynamics, an employee research and consulting firm, to determine the area’s best workplaces based on employee surveys, the release continued.

Viking Pump announces new president

CEDAR FALLS, IowaDerrick Goddard has been named president of Viking Pump Inc., according to a press release.

Goddard has fulfilled the role of interim president since July 2016 in conjunction with his role as general manager of Viking Pump Canada, the release continued.

Goddard has been with Viking Pump/IDEX Corporation for 27 years, and his years of product experience include roles with Corporate IT and Viking Pump Canada as director of operations as well as being a Six Sigma Black Belt; most recently, Goddard has held the role as general manager for Canadian and European operations for Viking Pump.

“I have had a long history with the people of this organization, and I am enthusiastic about the opportunities unfolding and growth potential in the future,” said Goddard.

The focus will continue to be on developing solutions for target applications, the release noted, learning from successes in the LACT (Lease Automatic Custody Transfer) market.

Viking will continue to develop its existing products with the help of the enhanced research and development capabilities, like 3-D printing and a newly renovated research lab, the release stated.

“Viking is focused on efficient and expeditious product development and testing. The new investments have positioned us to be much quicker to market with product solutions,” Goddard said.

ST. LOUIS — Auto Spa Etc. recently purchased Crown Car Wash in Florissant, Missouri, according to a press release.

This acquisition brings the carwash’s number of locations up to five, the release noted.

Ziebart International Corp. announces new location

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. —Ziebart International Corp. announced the opening of its newest location in Sterling Heights, Michigan, according to a press release.

After awarding a franchise license to Anthony Mattia, the new Michigan store, located at 5923 E. 14 Mile Rd. in Sterling Heights, recently celebrated its grand opening, the release continued.

Moo Moo Express Car Wash announces new Polaris location

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Moo Moo Express Car Wash announced its 13th Central Ohio location, according to a press release.

The Polaris Moo is scheduled to open in July 2017 and will be located at 460 Lazelle Rd. in Columbus, Ohio, the release continued.

Once completed, the carwash will feature a cream exterior, 20 vacuum bays, a retail office and remain fully staffed during operating hours, the release noted.

Memphis teen arrested for part in shooting at carwash

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — According to www.commerialappeal.com, Memphis police arrested Tyree Robertson, 18, accusing him of shooting and killing a man outside Chism Express Car Wash in May.

Robertson has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Frank Douglas, 36, who, after being shot at the carwash, the article added, was taken by private vehicle to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Robertson was developed as a suspect in the shooting, and on June 25th, he was arrested, the article stated.

Robertson told police that he and several other men began shooting towards the carwash from the back fence of the Mill Creek Apartments due to an earlier confrontation, the article stated.

Police said that a video they reviewed showed four men fleeing after the shooting, the article added.

No other arrests have been made, and Robertson remain in jail with no bond, the article concluded.
