ADELAIDE, Australia — A new On the Run service station will be constructed after receiving approval from the Development Assessment Commission (DAC), according to TheAustralian.com.
The $1.8 million site will be open 24 hours per day, noted the article. It will feature a drive-thru restaurants, carwash bays, picnic tables and ample parking.

Onkaparinga Council rejected Shahin Properties’ application to construct the facility last year, noted the article. Shahin appealed the decision, and the application went back and forth between the court and council before DAC took over.
Some residents support the development because it will bring jobs to the area, stated the article, but others worry it is not in keeping with the town’s semirural image.
