TUCSON, Ariz. — Mister Car Wash has expanded its presence into Michigan with the acquisition of Southland Auto Wash’s six locations in Grand Rapids, according to a press release.
Casey Lindsay, director of acquisitions, said, “When it comes to best in class in the carwash industry, the Ellis family and Southland team comes to mind. We are honored they would entrust us with their business, and we’re proud to add these stores to the Mister family.”
“Our family has been washing cars in the Grand Rapids community since 1950, and we’re grateful for the support and success we’ve had here,” said Mark Ellis, President of Southland Auto Wash. “As we looked to the future of not only our business but our people, we knew that Mister Car Wash would be respectful of our legacy and community.”
Acquiring Southland gives Mister Car Wash its first entry into the Michigan market, the release stated.
“It’s special to be in a position to expand into Michigan with Southland’s iconic brand,” said John Lai, president and CEO of Mister Car Wash. “We found a strong alignment of core values with the Southland team and have been inspired by their commitment to the community and their people. We will continue to build on the great work the Ellis family has done and are looking forward to sharing the Mister Car Wash brand with the Grand Rapids community.”
