NEWTOWN, Conn. — A Mobil gas station/convenience store has received preliminary approval to install an automated carwash at the business from the Water & Sewer Authority (WSA), according to the Newtown Bee.
The city’s planning and zoning commission said last March that gas station/convenience stores are allowed to install carwash equipment as long as they meet applicable guidelines, said the article.
Attorney Robert Hall represents owner Satyam Sundaram LLC. He provided technical details of the carwash process, including amount of water and chemicals used, stated the article.
The initial approval allows the company to apply to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for an industrial discharge into the municipal sewer system, explained the article.
If this authorization is given, Satyam Sundaram LLC will then need final approval from the WSA for carwash installation, noted the article.
