MEDFIELD, MA — Medfield Commons, a combination carwash, gas station, c-store and Dunkin’ Donuts, currently owes $90,000 in back water and sewer charges, MedfieldPatch reported.
The Jan. 7 story stated that, in addition, the business’ wine and malt license was not renewed on Jan. 1. The location did not file a renewal application before the December deadline, and the renewal would not have been approved due to the outstanding charges.
Selectmen deny wash’s beer/wine request
Town Administrator Michael Sullivan said in the story that the business has acknowledged that they used the water, but they claim not all of it went into the sewer. In Medfield, the commercial business sewer charge is 100 percent of the accompanying water consumption.
The business’ sewer charges have been appealed to the Appellate Tax Board. When the board makes its decision and the business pays its outstanding debt, the company will have to start all over with a new application for a wine and malt license.
