SMYRNA, Tenn. — The Nissan Leaf, which is an electric, emissions-free vehicle, now has become the “world’s cleanest car” with the addition of self-cleaning paint, according to USA Today.

SMYRNA, Tenn. — Nissan generated big interest with its Ultra-Ever Dry coating, which has been called a self-cleaning paint, and now it is adding that technology to its electric, emission free car, the Nissan Leaf, according to USA Today.

The Leaf, notes the article, has been called the “world’s cleanest car.” The self-cleaning paint was debuted earlier this year.

“The 100 percent electric Leaf provides the perfect canvas for this new, advanced paint technology,” said Pierre Loing, the vice president of product planning for Nissan North America. “This is one Leaf that never has to stop at gas stations – not even for a car wash.”

The self-cleaning paint is still being tested by Nissan, and the company states it does not have plans to market it as a factory-applied coating. However, Nissan said it may make it an aftermarket option in the future.
